About Skin Logic by Angelina

My Background

My name is Angelina. I am a medical esthetician with over 18 years of experience working in clinical skincare environments, including collaboration with dermatology and plastic surgery professionals.

Over the years, I have treated a wide range of skin conditions including acne, pigmentation, sensitivity, and compromised skin barriers.

My experience has shaped a very clear understanding of one principle:

👉 Healthy skin is built on function, not trends.

Why I Created This Blog

After many years of self-employed clinical work, the skincare industry changed significantly after COVID, especially in Ontario.

Later, while working in a busy skincare clinic, I noticed a growing gap between different treatment philosophies.

Many current approaches focus heavily on:

  • exfoliation

  • fast results

  • trending ingredients

  • layered multi-step routines

While these methods may show quick visual results, they are not always suitable for every skin type—especially sensitive, acne-prone, or barrier-damaged skin.

I created Skin Logic by Angelina to share a different perspective based on clinical experience and skin biology.

My Clinical Approach

My skincare philosophy is based on fundamental skin science.

I focus on:

  • skin barrier health and repair

  • inflammation control

  • understanding the root cause of skin conditions

  • gradual and structured treatment plans

  • preventing irritation before chasing results

I believe that when the skin barrier is strong and inflammation is controlled, many conditions such as acne and pigmentation naturally improve over time.

Clinical Approach vs Trend-Based Skincare

In modern skincare, there is often a strong focus on trends and active ingredients.

However, my approach is different:

Trend-Based Approach

  • focuses on exfoliation and visible changes

  • frequently introduces strong active ingredients

  • aims for fast results

  • may overlook barrier condition

Clinical Barrier-Based Approach

  • prioritizes skin stability first

  • reduces inflammation before treatment

  • introduces actives carefully and gradually

  • focuses on long-term skin health

Both approaches exist in the industry, but my work is based on the second approach.

My Goal

Through this blog, I aim to share practical, experience-based knowledge that helps people understand their skin more clearly.

My focus is not on trends, but on helping people build a healthy relationship with their skin through education and awareness.

Because in skincare, understanding the skin always comes before treating it.

Final Message

Good skin is not created through more products or faster treatments.

It is created through understanding, patience, and respect for the skin’s natural function.
